Paw-Over Café
About This Spot
Nestled along the quiet stretch of Freibadstraße, Paw-Over Café unfolds like a gentle retreat from Munich’s energetic pulse. Stepping inside, you’re greeted by an intimate, unhurried ambiance—the kind of place where soft chatter blends seamlessly with the quiet hum of a carefully crafted espresso machine. The space, modest in size with just a handful of tables, invites visitors to linger and savor moments, whether tucked in for a pause alone or sharing warmth across coffee cups with friends.
There’s a subtle harmony here between thoughtfully brewed coffee and an intriguing selection of treats that hint at far-flung inspirations. The air carries the faint sweetness of delicate roll cakes, their light textures and nuanced flavors offering a welcome contrast to the smooth, richly layered pour-over coffee and inventive latte variations—each cup a small ceremony of flavor and care. Alternative milk options make it easy to find a personalized ritual, enhancing the cozy intimacy of the experience.
The café’s character is gently enhanced by the presence of feline visitors, adding a quiet sense of playfulness and homey comfort without overwhelming the relaxed atmosphere. Those who come here often discover a momentary escape, where unique tea choices like black sesame or oolong complement the carefully balanced sweetness of desserts without overpowering them.
Whether you’re drawn by the delicate charm of Asian-inspired pâtisseries or simply seeking a calm spot to unwind with a coffee crafted with heart, Paw-Over Café feels like a whispered invitation to slow down. It’s a place where quiet joys—like the subtle complexity of a matcha rose latte, or the soft fluffiness of a pistachio sponge—encourage a mindful pause in the rhythm of daily life.

Wanted to try a new cafe place where we could have some Asian pâtisseries and this place popped up. I guess it is a place where you can enjoy coffee while bringing your cat etc… I was drooling for Matcha cake but that day they didn’t have it. Instead I got the apple cinnamon one as well as the one with red bean which I liked better. I found the matcha and black sesame latte a bit blend but I am sure the owners will find a way to make everything beer

Delicious cakes and very high quality coffee! The shop owner is very friendly! Cakes are not too sweet. Parking lot could be easily found nearby.

I found another cafe in Munich that serves Hoji Cha Latte! Their version was a bit too thick for my standard but nonetheless I was really happy to have found this place! Their roll cake was the tastiest I had in Munich so far! It was not too sweet, and nicely fluffy inside. Perfect!

It is a small cozy coffee place with unique tea options such as black sesame latte or oolong tea. Handmade cinnamon rolls and couple of more desserts. A nice stop-over for a coffee/tea time. Matcha Latte cost 5,50€, cinnamon rolls 3,50€, other dessert 6,30€. Alternative milk options are available.

Cozy, intimate vibe with five tables inside and some outdoor seating where you can enjoy coffee and wonderfully refreshing cakes. Today, I tried the intriguing banana pistachio cake. Is it a sponge cake, a Swiss roll, a cassata, or a Christmas cake? You can’t quite tell, but it transported me somewhere far from Munich. I assume the place is called paw-over for another pronountion of the pour over coffee drink. Open on Sundays. 8.90 for coffee and cake. Wi-Fi and customer restrooms are available.

Best matcha in Munich, and the roll cake is so soft and tasty

We loved it! One of the best cafes we’ve visited so far in München. Great service, they are so nice and open ;) they even lend us a pen cuz we needed it to keep drawing . Even tho it’s a small place, you don’t feel suffocated or uncomfortable. It’s cozy and sweet! The deserts are really nice and fluffy :) and the drinks were delicious (if you are into sweet we sooo recommend the raspberry lemonade). Overall such a nice visit, we will decently come back here ;) thanks

Decided to go to the cafe early this time round and managed to order their cake, which is the definitely one of the best handmade cakes in Munich! Brought my cat along as well and everyone in the cafe was super receptive of him.
